Deeper We Fall by Chelsea M. Cameron

Synopsis
Two years after her best friend was involved in a car accident that caused a traumatic brain injury, Lottie Anders is ready to start her freshman year of college. Ready to move on. Ready to start forgetting the night that ripped her life apart.

Her plans come to a screeching halt when not one, but both brothers responsible for the accident end up back in her life again.

Zack is cruel, selfish and constantly rubbing what happened to her friend in Lottie's face.

Zan is different. He listens to her awkward ramblings. He loves "To Kill a Mockingbird" as much as she does, and his dark eyes are irresistible. His words are few and far between, but when he does speak, she can't help but listen.

The trouble is, Zan was the driver in the accident, and now Lottie's discovered he lied to her about what happened that night. Now she must decide if trusting him again will lead to real forgiveness, or deeper heartache.
Review
Deeper We Fall is a story of loving the person you hate the most. Yes, it seems weird to love the person you hate but then there's a fine line between love and hate so it's not impossible after all. Lottie loathe Zan because he destroyed the future of her bestfriend Lexie in a car accident, two years later they meet again and this time all the hatred she feels for him suddenly turn into love. She was confused because she felt like she's betraying her bestfriend for loving the person she supposed to hate for a lifetime for destroying her, now she has to make a decision whether to continue hating Zan or forgive him so she can love him with no guilt.

This is the kind of book that you have to give a chance and continue reading until you reach the point where all the boredom turns to enjoyment. The first half of the book was boring, 50% of the book was allotted to details of Lottie's hatred for Zan and his brother Zack. So yeah, I think it's pretty boring but then when I reached the point where her feelings for him suddenly shift, I felt relieved. I thought I have to wait longer to finally enjoy this book. All of a sudden after her change of feelings everything seems to be desirable, the characters became more enjoyable and the scenes between Zan and Lottie became more intense. I'm glad I didn't stop reading it and found out that this is a good book.

Aside from enjoying the second part of the book, I also enjoyed the alternating POV. I love going into Zan's mind, I see that he's totally broken, fate had been a bitch to him and I felt every ounce of his pain. But in the end all of his pain and guilt were washed away by the only woman he loved the most - Lottie.

So that's it, just give this book a chance and I'm sure you won't regret reading it.
